Payment & Membership Terms
1. Membership payments are invoiced monthly and taken by Direct Debit on the 1st of each month via the GoCardless payment platform. To set up your account we will send you an authorisation link that expires within 24 hours so if you have any problems signing up please do let us know as soon as possible. For more information regarding GoCardless: https://support.gocardless.com
2. Memberships can be cancelled with one months notice and no further payments will be taken.
3. Our prices are based on a 4 week monthly membership. The extra 4 weeks each year will be taken as holiday consisting of 2 weeks in December, 1 week in October and 1 week over the Easter Holiday. The Academy is closed for the month of August, Memberships are frozen with no payments being taken for this period.
4. We strive to provide a consistent and enriching learning environment for all our students. We understand that circumstances may arise where a student is unable to attend for a period of one month or more. However, it's important to note that we are unable to guarantee the retention of their position or suspend their membership payments during such periods. Unlike drop-in services, our academy operates as a structured membership program to ensure a comprehensive educational experience for all enrolled students.
5. If a class is missed by the student we will open up another place in a class the same week wherever possible. This will be dependant on finding a free space in an alternate class.
6. Imaginarium is able to terminate the place of a child with immediate effect if it is felt that the child is behaving in a way that disrupts the class creativity, safety and/or community. When dealing with challenging behaviour we will always work first to find a positive solution, including providing additional support or alternate provision where necessary.
Class Format
Our sessions run online using the Zoom platform. To keep security tight we ask parents and students to keep the log in link and password confidential and that when entering the Zoom room each student shows either their name, surname or the name of a parent.
Breakout rooms are very important in our classes as they allow students to collaborate and experiment with different tasks. Breakout rooms are not always monitored however the coach will check in on pupils intermittently. For our older students we do encourage the use of Screen Share in some of our sessions and enable the chat function, however these are disabled if the coach feels it is becoming a distraction. We do our best to create groups that are appropriate and will sharpen each others skills and ask that all students show kindness, consideration and a positive work ethic. If students are struggling with the social element of breakout rooms or are finding it difficult to stay focused Imaginarium will first work to help the child settle into the environment and if further support is required we will look for alternative provision during the session. If any parent or carer has a concern about their child being in an unsupervised breakout room they can contact the class tutor (academy@imaginarium.tv) before the session to see if alternative arrangements can be made.
All of our sessions encourage creative and original thought from our students. We understand that whilst we want our students to be bold in their thinking, we have a duty of care to ensure themes discussed are age appropriate and healthy. Our ethos is, if it would not appear in a film targeted at your age then we will not write/produce/perform it. If we feel that there could be content that requires a trigger warning we will contact parents/carers first. In terms of improvised / student written content, we will continue to steer in a way that encourages independent, creative thinking whilst safe-guarding the group. If you feel it would be helpful to inform us of any potential triggers with your child, please contact Marina Magdalena on the details given above.
